In less than 48 hours since its launch on Wednesday, more than one million users have joined Ping, Apple’s new social network for music. Ping lets users follow their favourite artists and friends to discover what music they’re talking about, listening to, and downloading. “One-third of the people who have downloaded iTunes 10 have joined Ping“, said Eddy Cue, Apple’s vice president of Internet Services. “As many more people download iTunes 10 in the coming weeks, we expect the Ping community to continue growing“.
  • Meet the Filmmakers: Gemma Arterton and Stephen Frears
Join Gemma Arterton (Quantum of Solace, Prince of Persia, Clash of the Titans) and director Stephen Frears (The Queen, Dangerous Liaisons, My Beautiful Laundrette) as they discuss the making of their new film, romantic comedy Tamara Drewe. Based on the award-winning graphic novel by Posy Simmonds, which was itself inspired by Thomas Hardy’s classic work of literature, Far From the Madding Crowd, this is a raucous, bawdy tale of love and intrigue in a modern country village. Event takes place at the Apple Store, Regent Street on Thursday 9th September at 7:00 pm. Customers are advised that spaces are limited, and should arrive early to avoid disappointment. See Tamara Drewe in cinemas across the UK on Friday 10th September.

Recording from dab radio via sd card to itunes 8 Months ago Karma: 0
Certain BBC Radio 4 broadcasts are not podcasts, I think for copyright reasons.

Looking at DAB radios, I have seen reference to SD cards on which radio programmes can be recorded to be listened to later.

My questions are:

1. Can such programmes once downloaded onto a SD card be input to itunes and then able to be listened to via an ipod?

Recording programmes which are non podcasts to an SD card and then downloading to an ipod seems to get round the non podcast problem re copyright or am I losing the plot? Various people I have spoken to mention the file format in which the BBC radio broadcast is output. If this is MP3, then transfer to itunes and then ipod seems to work.

2. If I buy a DAB radio with an ipod docking unit, can ALL radio programmes be transferred to the ipod whether they are podcasts or not.

Grateful for your thoughts

Hi

Interesting, i do this on my MAC via Eye TV - allows me to record TV as well as radio station available on free view.

This forum discussion would suggest what you want to do is possible... http://www.avforums.com/forums/dab-digital-radio-fm-radio/586863-recording-dab-internet-radio-via-epg.html

Good Luck

I would suggest that you research your second idea thoroughly, since I reckon those docks are radio input only.
